Illinois Football Recruiting: New Coach Tim Beckman Builds Initial Class

First-year Illinois Fighting Illini coach Tim Beckman landed three-star recruit Jarrod Clements out of Ohio this week, as SB Nation's Hail to the Orange reported on Tuesday.The 6-foot-2, 270-pound defensive end committed to the school on Tuesday, pushing its 2013 recruiting commitments up to seven.

According to Hail to the Orange, Clements turned down offers from Louisville, N.C. State, Tennessee, Toledo and West Virginia in favor of playing in Champaign. He's now the fifth three-star prospect to be reeled in by Illinois since hiring Beckman to replace Ron Zook after last season.

Four-star athlete Aaron Bailey, who will play quarterback at Illinois, is the highest-rated player that's committed to Illinois so among within the 2013 class.
